2011 MITE SQUIRT CO-ED INTERLOCK PLAYOFF RULES
All regular season rules apply except where noted below:
GAME START TIME & GAME LENGTH
§ Game start time is 6:30pm sharp with a 15 minute grace
§ Game curfew is 8:30pm
§ Each team must have a minimum 7 players to start at 6:30pm. Less than 7 players as of game start time will result in a forfeit to the non-offending team
§ No new inning after 8:00pm (unless umpire feels a team has purposely delayed the completion of the previous inning) from first pitch thrown
§ For reasons of player safety, game is considered complete if, in the opinion of the umpire, it is too dark or field conditions deteriorate to safely proceed with the game
HOME TEAM HONOURS & SCOREKEEPING
§ Regular Season leading team will be home field location and responsible for bases. Home team will be determined by a coin toss
§ Both teams are required to keep score. Home team is the official scorekeeper
§ Both team scorekeepers are to keep detailed scores, as tiebreaker rules will rely on this data
§ Both team scorekeepers are to confer each inning to ensure consistency and accuracy
PITCHING
§ A player may pitch a maximum two (2) consecutive regular innings and a maximum of three (3) regular innings per game. One pitch will be considered as an appearance.
§ In a tiebreaker inning, a pitcher who has made a previous appearance during game is permitted to pitch
TIEBREAKERS
§ To be used if, after 90 minutes of play, game is tied
§ These rules will be used to break a tie game only in the playoffs
§ These rules do not apply to the regular season (where ties are allowed)
§ Tiebreaker begins with Rule #1 and proceeds sequentially
1. If after 90 minutes of play score is tied, one extra inning will be played (lighting and field conditions permitting). Inning will start with runner on 2nd base, the player who had completed the last official at bat
2. If after the completion of the tie breaker the score is still tied, the winning team shall be the team that most recently held the lead at the end of a complete inning
3. Replay the entire game on the next Monday or Wednesday subject to field availability. If tied after the replay and application of Tiebreakers 1 & 2, the winner will be determined by a coin toss with the home team "calling"
